Warehouse Assistant

Role Summary:

The Warehouse Assistant holds responsibility for the administration of warehouse returns including the generation of material stock orders, service material and returns process.  This role holds responsibility for field material and purchasing support, as well as support to the Warehouse and Design & Engineering domain.  Medium to heavy data entry

Organizational Relationships:

The Warehouse Assistant reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor and interacts daily with BEI Field Management, Purchasing, Estimators, Starts Coordinators, Designers and RightStart personnel.  Key external contacts include Suppliers.

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Receives and processes field phase orders, making adds and deletes via the PO system
  • Receives and processes service orders via the PO system
  • Processes stock orders (normal stock, truck stock and plumber stock)
  • Functions as the administrative contact for Suppliers and maintains relationship with key personnel
  • Holds responsibility for item pricing issue resolution
  • Supports the Field with procurement support
  • Acts for the Field as a stop-gate cost controller and enforcer of procurement standards
  • Inventories and verify all material returns are complete and processed
  • Processes all returns by entering in the system and ensuring items get returned and credit issued
  • Maintains Warehouse material stock
  • Provides administrative support to Supervisor and Director
  • Provides information and regular reporting to Directors and Executive Management 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • General understanding of plumbing operations, standards, specifications, options and materials
  • Ability to check, verify and troubleshoot order and pricing issues 
  • High degree of attention to detail and ability to organize vast amounts of information
  • Ability to directly and professionally interact with supplier/builder reps and field personnel
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and work with various applications
  • Ability to work in a Warehouse environment

Preferred:

  • Background in Residential Construction administration 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills essential
  • Strong skills with organizing, coordinating and maintaining information essential
  • 3-5 years’ experience in administrative roles desired
